General Information

My research group and I study flow related to oil and natural gas reservoirs, groundwater, CO2 storage in saline aquifers and various other topics related to multiphase flow in porous media.

Some specific topics of interest include: Effective properties, upscaling for numerical flow simulations, core characterization, capillary heterogeneity effects and oscillatory flow.

Our research is mostly theoretical, however may include analysis of data from experiments. Numerical simulations and analytical solutions are commonly employed. We are interested in developing tools for engineers as well as understanding fundamental flow mechanics.
